Here's Exactly How It Works, From Point A to Point Z
Step 1: Submit Your Track. All initial rotation evaluations are 100% free. Every submission is reviewed by a real person — no algorithms, no bots deciding your future.
Radio-Friendly Disclaimer: If there is an E for Explicit next to your song in the iTunes Store, it is immediately disqualified. No exceptions. Songs have to be radio-ready — submit the clean radio edit.
Step 2: We Buy Your Music So We Can Hear All of It. We buy your song from the iTunes Store before we screen anything. iTunes only offers a preview — and a preview isn't your song. Out of respect for you and your craft, we buy it first, then listen to the whole thing: every solo, every break, every chorus, every verse. We're not like other companies with their 15-to-20-second rule. We think that's disrespectful. Here, you get 100% of our undivided attention.
Step 3: If It's Radio-Ready, It's In. Your song enters our broadcast catalog with its own DYR-N catalog serial number and joins the Radio Request Catalog for live airplay.
Step 4: Rally Your Fans. You'll receive an official congratulatory acceptance letter. Share it and your serial number, and get your fans, family, and followers requesting your song on Discover YOU RADIO.
A Note on Dignity (and Pricing)
Sometimes we find songs listed at $0.69 or $0.99 on iTunes. We'll still buy them — every submission gets purchased, no exceptions. But here's our honest advice, artist to artist: price your song at $1.29.
Your music took hours, heart, and craft. Price it like it matters — because it does. Walking in the dignity your work deserves starts with valuing it yourself.
Leveling Up (Optional Growth Tools)
To keep our platform afloat and continue supporting independent artists, we offer optional, premium services designed to elevate your brand and expand your reach:
1. Physical Certificate of Airplay ($55 — limited-time 2026 pricing): The ultimate keepsake. Your song enters the DYR-P serial category — the notarized version, hand-signed by Will and stamped through a Notary Public of the State of Colorado, displaying your song's distinct serial number, the official notary seal, and the actual audio waveform (the literal DNA) of your specific track. DYR-P artists also get their song history on display under the radio player, plus links to their social media or websites for extra exposure. Normal pricing goes into effect January 1, 2027.
2. Digital Certificate of Airplay ($15 — limited-time 2026 pricing): Comes in a printable format you can frame for your wall, accompanied by an official verification letter certifying your digital certificate (serial number, purchase date, and catalog entry). DYR-D artists also get their song history on display under the music player. Goes to $25 on January 1, 2027.
What about DYR-N? Every song accepted into our catalog receives a DYR-N serial number — it means your song is in the database and can be requested for airplay. DYR-N alone doesn't include the on-player history display or the social/website links — those come with the D and P certificate tiers.
Certificates are purchased keepsakes — never automatic, never free with submission.
3. College Radio Email List - Your Music in Front of FM Stations: - College radio stations sign up to a special email list we built specifically for them, and on the 1st of every month we send them the new submissions we've retained. Stations get bombarded with submissions and a lot of the time they'd rather find music on their own — so they browse through our catalog looking for artists to play on their FM airwaves. Don't be surprised if one reaches out to you directly.
4. Donations (Artist & Listener Supported): Donations help us help you. Whether contributed by passionate listeners or dedicated artists, every donation goes directly toward keeping our station operational, expanding our promotional reach, and supporting independent talent.
5. Cinematic 5-Minute Artist Spotlight: Supercharge your visibility with an immersive, high-quality 5-minute cinematic video spotlight generated using advanced AI tools (NotebookLM). We syndicate this spotlight across all major Discover YOU RADIO social platforms — including TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) — and broadcast the audio track live on Discover YOU RADIO to captivate listeners and build a broader fanbase for your work.
Submission Guidelines & The "Radio-Friendly" Rule
The "Radio-Friendly" Requirement: Because our ultimate goal is to help pitch your music to FM college radio stations, all submitted tracks must be "radio-friendly" (clean). FM stations are governed by strict broadcast regulations and cannot play explicit content. If your track contains explicit lyrics, you must submit the clean radio edit to be considered for rotation.
Submission Policy: Using this form solicits your music to us properly. We do not read unsolicited mail. Every submission is handled first come, first served, and it can take up to 90 days before your song is purchased so please be patient. Or join us on our live show, The Breach Live on TIK TOK, Monday through Friday from 8 PM to 10 PM Mountain Time, and bypass the screening process altogether.
